Seccies ruthless as UniMil lose 1st game

After a good win against NNK two weeks ago and another break between game we face the unbeaten Unimil.

They were a bit of an unknown side to us as they were one of the newly promoted sides to Super League A. They had also won their first two game which included a good win over the usually strong Durbell.

Our game plan was to play with high intensity and quick line speed on defence to ensure that we did not give them any time on the ball.

We executed this very well in the first 25 minutes and Unimil were struggling to keep up with the pace of the game. Our set phases set up the platform for our exciting backs to wreak havoc on the Unimil side.
With some of the best interplay between our backs this season we ran in five tries in the first half to lead 33 v 7 at the break.

Taking our time to get back into our stride in the second half. We gave away cheap penalties and turned over ball on to many occasion after we brought on some fresh legs off the bench.
After 10 minutes we seemed to find our rhythm again and managed to keep possession and built some greatt phases, with interplay between the forward and backs.

Once we had regained our rhythm we managed to up the intensity of our play once again and ran in a further 5 tries in the second half.

There were many outstanding players on the day. Marnus Ferreira standing in at fly half had a great game and linked fantastically well with Morgan Newman on his outside.

Thespo Manaka ran in two tries with Dylon Fairbridge managing a hatrick on the day.

The man of the match went to Matthew Faught who was outstanding in the loose play and was rewarded for all his hard work with a try.

Full Time: 59-7

Next we face Primrose away which is never an easy outing.
