Belhar away is never an easy encounter, and this proved to be the case again this weekend.
With a good training week under our belt the Seccies we in confident mood heading into this match against Belhar.
As has been the case over the last few years that Belhar playing at home is a much harder outing than Belhar playing away.
As has been the case in too many matches so far this year, we were unable to build pressure on the opposition due to constant handling errors and turnover ball.
This limited our play in the first half to a maximum of 2 phases before we ended up turning over possession.
We lead 5 v 0 at half time.
During the half time break we had an honest discussion on how were giving up possession to easily and needed to control the ball better.
We started the second half with more intensity and started to build more phases of play and hold on to possession.
This slowly started to take its toll on the Belhar defense.
Playing with better composure and intensity we managed to score two more tries in the second half.
Now pushing for the forth try we started to play a more open game. Unfortunately this lead to an intercept try with the last play of the game.
We will take the win, but much work is still to be done and we face another tough outing against UWC away this weekend.
