This evening sees the two oldest clubs compete in the oldest club derby game this Country has. It has been 3 long years since we were able to compete against Villagers in the league and in that time it was only Derby Day games for the bragging rights.
May 8th 2015 however is a different game. We compete for SLA points as both sides fight it out in the top Western Province Club competition
There is no doubting both clubs want a full house of wins but a 5 pointer for the first side would be the cherry on the top.
1st XV:
Both Hammies and Village have played 3 games so far as we sit in 3rd spot and our visitors in 6th. A win for us will put us top of the log with a 2 or 3 point lead and on the same amount of games as UCT & Maties.
2nd XV:
Our seconds are unbeaten this year and will comfortably take top spot on the league as they face a Villager 2nd XV with only one win from their 3 games. We have a number of players coming back from injuries and other lay off’s and have named a very strong side.
3rd XV:
Villagers sit 3 points adrift of our 3rd side who even with a bonus point win will sit in 2nd spot on the table behind Maties. Our third side have a lot of bonus points to get as catch up for the game that we drew against Vic’s in the opening fixture.
u20 XV:
Our under 20’s are a sight to behold this season as they have scored a whopping 198 points in 3 games and are yet to concede any. Villager u20 have 1 win from their 3 games and will no doubt push our youngsters – Here is to another clean sheet gents
