No season could ever really get underway without a few friendlies as the squads and combinations are tested ahead of the opening day of competition. Our first Community Cup game is away to Sishen on February 21 and other than the Cape Town 10’s we will have 3 preseason games/contact sessions.
We start with a contact session with current Varsity Cup Champions, UCT. The Ikey Tigers showed a great never give up attitude and will to win in scoring a try after the hooter to win the 2014 FNB Varsity Cup. This will take place at our home ground on Thursday from 6pm.
In our second game we face WP SLA Champions and Varsity Cup contenders, Stellenbosch University. Maties are also preparing for a strong Varsity Cup campaign and will be keeping an eye on UCT and us as we move into the WP Club Rugby Season. We face Maties at home on January 30 2015.
We finish off ‘preseason’ with a match against Wesbank away. We will travel to Malmesbury on February 14 to take on a side we faced in last years group stages of the Community Cup
