Hammies vs UWC – Match Day Preview

2015 Cell C Community Cup Semi-Finals

We welcome UWC as we prepare for our first home game of the SLA season. Even though it is rather early in the year all our teams will be looking for big wins tomorrow as the new league format makes it extremely difficult to make up points if you fail to get the desired result.

First Team Match Day Squad 16:00
We are sitting in 5th position on the log having played 2 games getting bonus point wins in both and the last game being a tough away 5 pointer against Primrose. UWC have also played 2 with a win and a loss and sit in 9th place on the log. A bonus point win for the first side will put them top of the log for the time being. Coach, Anton Moolman, has made a number of changes to his side as we look to strengthen the entire senior playing group for the tough season ahead.

U20 Match Day Squad:
A truly phenomenal performance by the U20’s over their last two games as they are yet to concede points. The two comprehensive wins over Vic’s and Primrose will keep our youngsters in a good place to get another 5 points and top the log. They do however face a UWC U20 side that are 2 wins from 2, also on 10 points. This could be the turning point of the season quite early on for both these sides.
