Hammies overcome opening season hurdle

Great to kick start the season at Stephan Way against Primrose with a comfortable 48-17 win. As the scoreline depicts we secured our bonus point and achieved our immediate goal of carrying winning continuity forward into the league.

We scored possibly the try of the season early in the first half when Harlon Klaasen turned the ball over 2 meters from our try line and ignited the initial start that saw the ball transfer through ten set of hands over the full 100m before the Initiator being Harlon finally dotted down in the right hand corner.

The balance of the game was a one sided affair after Primrose and contested well in the first half they ran out os steam and could not deal with intensity and pace of the Hamilton side.
A good start and positive team performance with standout contributions from flanker Jacques Oosthuizen, centre Harlon Klaassen and full back Shane Vallender
