FAVOURITE HAMMIES LEGEND/PERSONALITY AND WHY:
Late Uncle Morris Silke. Never missing an U20 fixture. Always next to the field even when he became wheel- chair bound. I have so much love and respect for this man. He will always remain a Hammies legend. Love you Uncle Morrie!
MOST MEMORABLE RUGBY MOMENT:
So many to pick from. I’m just so privileged to have met and learnt from so many great people over the years. If I had to pick one I would say 2019 when my team won team of the year and I received coach of the year.
BEST ADVICE FOR UPCOMING PLAYERS: Stay humble. No player is bigger than the game. Enjoy every moment and make every training session and fixture count. You never know when it will be your last one.
WHAT MOVIE CHARACTER DESCRIBES YOU BEST, AND WHY? My wife says Bruce Willis from the “Die Hard” movies and my daughter says Patrick from the “Sponge bob Movie” Hmmmm …. Interesting combination.
SOMETHING YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME:
Recently taken up some golf coaching and let’s just say it’s a work in progress.
LIKES: Family time, rugby, golf, braai, football and of course the Brandy Special.
DISLIKES: Egotistical people, dishonesty and of course losing a rugby match.
FUNNIEST MOMENT ON THE FIELD:
When my daughter was little, she asked me the morning of game day if she can run onto the field as the ball girl after we scored and put the ball on the halfway line. Unfortunately, she didn’t know where the halfway line was and ended up running all over the field like a lost GPS signal until mom came to the rescue.
