Hamilton’s “Seccies” were looking to build on the last two impressive performance against Primrose and Kuilsrivier in previous matches.
We started off with a few last minute changes to our line-up due to injuries and illness just before kick-off. This did not impact us to a great degree as the replacements slotted in seamlessly.
We enjoyed great position and territory in the first half but some stray passes and lack of ball security at the breakdown cost us at least 3 try scoring opportunities.
As the half progressed, we settled down and started to put good phases together that saw us score some impressive team try’s.
We went into the halftime break leading 38 v 0.
The Second half started off as we ended the first and continued to apply pressure to the Sir Lowrians pack at all set phases. This made the running easier for our skillful backs that scored some wonderful team tries.
There were a number a good performances on the day but special mention must go to Robbie Trueman and Marnus Ferreira who covered the field all day.
In total we scored 11 tries with the forwards scoring 4 and the backs 7. This just shows what a team effort it was.
Final score 67 v 5.
There is still much improvement to be made as we make our way through the season and will come up against better opposition. We are happy with another 5 points and look forward to our match against NNK on Friday 22nd April.
