2015 is a huge focus for the club and our committee, coaches & players have one focus for this year, trophies. Head Coach, Anton Moolman, has made it clear, in no uncertain terms that we as a club will be moving up a gear in our quest to win the Community Cup and the Western Province SLA league.
This all gets underway as we travel to Sishen Rugby Club in the opening round of the Cell C Community Cup in February 21. This is the start of our campaign and a huge step to making the year a success.
Round 2 gives all our local support a chance to come and see the side as we face a club full of history at the Stephan Oval, Wanderers Rugby Club. February 28 at 4pm is a good time to come down to Green Point and support some club rugby.
Villagers Worcester are our next challenge in Round 3 on March 7 at 4pm. We play them away and are hoping for a good win against our out of town neighbours.
March 14 is a Community Cup bye for us but please keep an eye out as we will very likely have some friendlies lined up at the club for the 2nd’s 3rd’s and u20’s
Our last game in the pool stages puts us at home to Evergreens who are the SWD Club Rugby Champions. This will take place at the Stephan Oval on March 21 at 4pm.
